	The International Conference on Engineering & MIS 2015 will take place in Istanbul, Turkey, 24-26 September, 2015.

	The ICEMIS 2015 is organized by the International Association of Researchers (IARES), a non-profit international association for the researchers. The conference has the focus on the frontier topics in the theoretical and applied engineering and MIS subjects. The ICEMIS conference serves as good platforms for our members and the entire engineering and MIS community to meet with each other and to exchange ideas.

	All submitted papers will be under peer review and accepted papers will be published in the conference proceeding (ISBN:). The abstracts will be indexed and available at major academic databases such as BBLP, IEEE (Pending), ACM (Pending). The accepted papers will also be considered for publication in the special issues in a number of esteemed international journals such as International Journal of Cloud Applications and Computing (IJCAC) and in edited books by publishers like Springer and IG-Global.

Prof. Dr. Erol KURT

In this talk, an overview will be done on the dynamics of the nonlinear electrical circuits. Historically, the RL-diode circuit, Chua’s circuits, newly- introduced R-2L-2D circuit will be mentioned and their nonlinearity features and responses will be explained. In terms of dynamics, linear and nonlinear behaviors will be classified depending on various system parameters including input amplitude V0, input frequency f, resistance R, capacitance C and inductance L. Resonances, sub-harmonics and super-harmonics will be clarified by using FFT analyzes and the bifurcation maps will be described from the regular behavior to the chaotic one. In addition, especially for higher dimension systems, the Lyapunov exponents which determine the characteristics of the output signals from various circuit elements will be explained. At the end of the talk, some engineering applications of chaotic circuits will be mentioned and future perspectives will be given to the audience.

Bio:Prof. Dr. Erol Kurt - He completed his undergraduate studies at Gazi University, Department of Physical Education in 1998 and took his M. Sc. degree from the Institute of Science and Technology of the same university in 2001. He was awarded by DFG for a magnetohydrodynamics project in Germany for 3 years and completed his Ph.D. degree in 2004 in Bayreuth University, Germany. He worked for R&D department of Turkish Atomic Energy Authority for almost 3 years. Beginning from the middle of 2009, he was assigned as Associate Professor at Department of Electrical & Electronics Engineering at Technology Faculty, Gazi University. Beginning from May 2013, He works as a Professor at the same department. His main teaching and research areas include nonlinear phenomena in electrical/electronic circuits, electric machine design, harvesters, mechanical vibrations, chaos, plasmas, fusion and magnetohydrodynamics. He has authored or co-authored many scientific papers and the technical chairman to the serial conference of Int. Conf. Nuclear & Renewable Energy Resources (NuRER) and the chairman to European Conference on Renewable Energy Systems (ECRES- www.ewres.info). He conducts several national and international projects on the renewable energy systems and he has been the guest editor of several SCI-indexed special issue journals. Prof. Kurt is currently the chief editor of International Journal of Informatics Technology (IJIT- www.ijit.info) and the field editor of Journal of Polytechnic (JoP- www.politeknik.gazi.edu.tr/).

Title: A View of Usability and UX from the Viewpoint of User Engineering

Abstract:

Based on the classification of quality characteristics where two dimensions, objective quality vs. subjective quality and artifact quality vs. quality in use. the author differentiated various quality characteristics into four category groups. He pointed out where the usability can be located and what the sub characteristics of usability are as well as the difference between the usability and the quality in use.

Furthermore, the author suggested that the quality characteristics that relate to the UX are quality in use. And because the UX concept emphasizes the subjective aspects, both the objective quality in use and the subjective quality in use are related to the UX.

From the viewpoint of user engineering, every artifacts should be designed and manufactured considering the quality in use for a long term. And, of course, they should be designed with the care for the diversity among users. Diversity among users include "characteristics" - age, sex and gender, disability, physical traits, language, knowledge and skill, "inclination" - taste, innovativeness, religion, culture, attitude, and "situation and environment" - emotional state, arousal level, physical environment, geographical environment, temporal situation.

Bio:

Masaaki Kurosu is a professor at the Open University of Japan. He is also a President of HCD-Net (Human Centered Design Network) in Japan. Based on his career as a usability and UX professional in industry and academia, he proposed the concept of user engineering, ADA (Artifact Development Analysis) and now, a new concept of XE (Experience Engineering).

Before coming to NIME (National Institute of Multimedia Education) that was consolidated to the Open University of Japan in 2009, he was a professor at the faculty of informatics of Shizuoka University. He was formerly working for Hitachi Ltd. at the Design Center and the Central Research Institute. He graduated the Ph.D. course of psychology at Waseda University.

He was born in Tokyo in 1948. He served as a conference chair of APCHI98, INTERACT2001, 1st and 2nd International Conference on Human-Centered Design, and Thematic Area of HCI of HCI International in 2011, 2013 and 2014. Formerly, he served as a member of TC13 of IFIP, ISO TC159/SC4/WG6 head of Japanese mirror group, and the steering committee member of APCHI. He is an author or a contributor of more than 40 books.

Abstract: We contribute to the hybrid, e.g., mixed continuous-discrete dynamics of stochastic differential equations with jumps or Markov-switching models, and to its optimal control. Those systems allow the representation of random regime switches and are of growing importance in economics, finance, science and engineering. We introduce two new approaches to this area of stochastic optimal control: one is based on the finding of closed-form solutions, the other one on a discrete-time numerical approximation scheme. The presentation ends with a conclusion and an outlook to future studies. Bio:
Erdem Kilic has a Ph.D. in financial economics with emphasis on financial econometrics and financial modeling. He is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Economics, MEF University in Istanbul. He has pursued postdoctoral research in financial economics at the Institute of Applied Mathemtics in METU, Ankara. His main research interests include financial economics and stochastic models in finance. Recently, he has been focusing on optimal asset pricing under asymmetric information, multiobjective portfolio selection models, and effects of consumer confidence dynamics on business activity.
